Dr. Laura Solomon is a special education consultant. For over four decades, she has run Special Education Services, a practice dedicated to the education and well-being of children with special needs and their families in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

What does Laura do? She is a problem-solver who works to get your children what they need to thrive.

Navigating the special education system can be challenging and complicated. Laura listens to children and families. She specializes in diagnostic and educational testing and makes sure you understand the findings. She uses testing, along with insights from family members, teachers, and others, to work with school teams to develop individualized goals (including Individual Education Programs and 504 Plans). Laura works collaboratively to build support systems for your child, and she measures progress to ensure they have what they need to succeed. Laura can also recommend alternative programs, including public, private/independent/parochial, and nonpublic schools.
